Re: problem to unmount device, as a user, with ivman

Dont use ivman for now. It seems to be incompatible after recent package updgrades, not from Arch, but the packages themselves. I've had strange problems with it including information loss on usb sticks and strange folders in side folders for ever.
But to answer your question, I dont think its neccessary to unmount a flash drive using ivman, you just close the application and remove. I believe I read something like that similar in the config files. Anyways I was never able to unmount even when ivman worked properly.

without ivman, when i mount manually my usb stick, i can unmount it without problem. But i still think it's necessary to unmount the device before unplugging it, because the system could become unstable.

try running only a user instance of it. Works for me. You may want to be sure your added to the proper groups like storage.
