i can only test 536
if someone wants to help an give me feedback for 537
feel free to post here or contact me
536 package:
pacman -S intel-536ep

Oh i forgot
the package now contains only the module for the actual arch 2.6 kernel
if you need an other one you have to rebuild the package

I have problems modprobing the Intel537 module. Even as root I get "permission denied".
Maybe this is due to the huge size of the module? Is it really supposed to be this big? It is 4.2 MB here.
[17:53 frank: ~]$ ll /lib/modules/2.6.11.7-ARCH/kernel/drivers/char/Intel537.ko
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4193072 2005-04-10 10:08 /lib/modules/2.6.11.7-ARCH/kernel/drivers/char/Intel537.ko
[root@frank frank]# modprobe Intel537
FATAL: Error inserting Intel537 (/lib/modules/2.6.11.7-ARCH/kernel/drivers/char/Intel537.ko): Operation not permitted
btw: thanks, tpowa for providing so many quality packages including post-installation explanations.

my guess the module is not for your chipset.
if it's a intel 537 ac97
as long as i can remember, please try ltmodem drivers or slmodem drivers one of them include the intel 537 support, also please read my wikis about the modem drivers.
thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.
I am pretty sure that it has this chipset, because it is identified by lspci:
[18:46 frank: ~]$ lspci
...
00:02.6 Modem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] Intel 537 [56k Winmodem] (rev a0)
...
But if you still think that this might be wrong, I will go ahead and try the other driver.

I think you were right, I modprobed the slmodem module and dmesg gave me output, and the device /dev/slamr0 was created.
Now I'll have to figure out how to go on (going to read your Wiki entry).
Thanks again, great work!
