[solved] pulseaudio, volume is too low & won't share audio

I have phonon-pulse, xine-lib-pulse, and kdemultimedia-kmix-pulse installed. I do not have alsa installed.

1) In both amarok and mplayer, the audio is too low, and kmix shows the "internal audio analog stereo" at 100%.

2) I can't play something in both smplayer and amarok at the same time. Which ever was playing first keeps playing, while the following application is muted. And for flash, I have to close any webpages using flash, before it unlocks and allows amarok to play.

If it won't share audio, either one of them is playing as a different user, or you don't actually use Pulseaudio.

And its not possible to 'not have alsa installed'....

pacman -Qe does not show alsa.
