hello,
today while playing with bauerbill i noticed that pkgbuilds in the abs tree have a lower pkgver and/or pkgrel than the packages from my selected pacman mirror. i don't use testing repository.
now my question is:
should the situation be the opposite, in another words, should abs contain newer pkgbuilds than the packages in repositories (if the repositories are not in sync), or is this normal behaviour?
thank you for your answers

ABS package builds necessarily have to be constructed after changes occur in the repos. Most are adaptations of the original to perform tasks not available in the standard releases AFAICT.

what about tarball sync from the repos? does that sync with the packages in the repos or with official abs tree?

abs is using a rsync snapshot from svn and is generated twice of day if i remember well.
