how do you install libfetch-2.33 [Solved]

Yes I am rebuilding pacman, however there is no ./configure file here.

Edit:Thanks for all your effort, but the original problem was with an old version of pacman not being able to update itself.  This solved the problem

Configure is not needed. Look at PKGBUILD.

What are you trying to do?   You are best to use ABS and adjust the PKGBUILDs to your need.

Nice icon. I have a 2007 build of arch linux, think it is don't panic. It allows me to start an install with the option "IDE-legacy" which I apparently need or the install won't load correctly, however, it appears that the pacman in there can't really update itself alone. I tried to use the latest build of arch linux, but no one seems to know how to enable the "IDE-legacy" option on that build and it doesn't say how to either, so...

Edit: ABS would be good, now that I know about it, but I am probably locked out of it, based on the wik: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ABS

Re: how do you install libfetch-2.33 [Solved]

Unfortunately since Pacman is not working, and what I am currently trying to repair, makepkg will not work, I can't use it, it keeps saying that it needs openssl>=1.0.0. Openssl-1.0.0a is already on the system through ./configure make and make install. Again pacman installs are not an option, pacman is not working and I am trying to load the dependencies it needs to get it to run again. I need some other way to install libfetch besides makepkg.

I'm not sure if I understand it right, but have you tried 'makepkg -d' to skip dependency checks?

That worked but there are new problems, first it gave

==> Starting build()
cp: cannot stat '\Makefile': No such file or directory
make: Nothing to be done for 'all'

followed by errors related to that. I appear to have gotten around that copying the Makefile in the libetch-2.33 folder to root. Now I get this error

==> Generating .FILELIST file ...
tar: *: Cannot stat: no such file or directory
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Is there no other way to install this package without pacman?
