[SOLVED] Ratpoison missing functions

I installed ratpoison 1.4.5-3 from the repository and noticed that the functions removeup, removedown, removeleft, removeright are missing. These are functions that expand the window in the given direction, and they are quite convinient in my opinion.

These functions do exist on ratpoison 1.4.5-2 on ubuntu.

I uninstalled and then installed the old arch package 1.4.5-2, but the functions are missing here too.

Is the removal of these functions a patch applied to the arch packages? Is there any ratpoison version which contains these functions?

Arch does not remove anything from upstream without good reason. It's the other way round: those functions are added in the (debian?) ubuntu packages, see

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+sou … on/1.4.5-2

The file ratpoison_1.4.5-2.debian.tar.gz from that page contains the patches applied to ratpoison, including brl-enlarge.diff:

"This patch adds new removeleft/up/right/down commands to extend the current
frame in the given direction, removing all frames in the way.
Default key-bindings are C-t M-arrow-keys."

Re: [SOLVED] Ratpoison missing functions

Thanks. I used the latest the latest ratpoison source (1.4.5-3) from arch repositories together with that patch, and it worked.
