Openbox menu problems

Lately my Openbox menu has started acting weird, the submenu of the main menu won't open until I move my mouse over the area where the submenu should be - in other words submenus won't open automatically when I move my mouse over the submenus in the main menu.

I'm guessing this has something to do with a recent update, but I don't know which one. The problem could be related to xcompmgr, because without it menu behaves as expected. The thing is, there weren't any updates of openbox or xcompmgr recently. Only thing I can think of is the recent (problematic?) update of nvidia drivers.

I'm using ATI, and this has just started happening here with the 30th Sept. X updates. All submenus, too: not just Openbox. I never thought of xcompmgr. It could well be that; it does exhibit some strange behaviour sometimes.

I wonder if rebuilding it against the new X libs might help. I've downgraded just to get things working properly (it was driving me nuts), but I'll maybe try that later (possibly much later... ) and report back.
