Does anyone else have a problem with Nautilus making SFTP connections? I can seem to get it to work now. It was fine a few days ago. I can log on to KDE and use Dolphin and things connect fine. I can also use the command line or Remmina and things connect fine.
Can anyone confirm or deny this happening?

Yep, the same problem here Maybe it's todays openssh update?

That didn't fix it. I updated it and it's still not working.

Posting the versions you use might help in the long run

Nautilus 2.30.1. I also tried nautilus-elementary-ur from the AUR (just in case it was something odd with the regular package). I am on Arch 64-bit, no [testing] repo used, etc. I do know that a few days ago, libssh2 from the AUR got updated from 1.2.6 to 1.2.7. I've not tried rolling that back (yet). Also, my machine at home is set up the same as the one here at work -- I will try that one as well tonight.
And for posterity, the actual error from Nautilus is (I replaced user and IP with some xxx's for security reasons!):
Could not display "sftp://someuser@75.127.xxx.xxx/".
Error: Error reading from unix: Input/output error
Please select another viewer and try again.

I get exactly the same error with a fully up-to-date system following the openssh update.
Just logged: FS#20724

Yup, confirmed -- openssh 5.6 breaks nautilus' sftp.

nautilus is using directly sftp from openssh and doplin or whatever the name is is using libssh
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Same problem with nautilus on a fully uptodate Arch64 system.
Downgrading to openssh-5.5p1-1 solved the problem for me.

Temp work-around might be to use something like filezilla (which is actually quite a nice app)
Please be patient, I'm a n00b on Arch (only 2 years on Ubuntu) so I may say something stupid!
PS thank you to all those who contribute awesomeness to the AUR and the main packages, you guys have made my computer so much more fun to use!

If you read French, it looks like there are some people having the same problem with Ubuntu in France:
http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=412251
It sounds like this person has found that with a recently created user they do not have the problem, but with user accounts that have been around for a while they do have the problem.

P.S. I was going to report a bug, but is this a problem with openssh or nautilus? In the French forum, the person with the problem found that openssh worked fine on the command line.

Already reported - http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/20724

I meant reporting it upstream. But I'm still wondering if if should be reported as a nautilus bug or a openssh bug.

And it's a problem with the client-side. Downgrading to openssh-5.5p1 on my laptop, I can connect in to my arch desktop using nautilus. The desktop is still running 5.6p1.

This behaviour is now solved through the latest updates - not sure which one - but it isn't openssh, which is stil at 5.6p1. Probably nautilus, methinks.

It was gvfs:

Yup. I checked that first thing after the 2.32 upgrade. It's fixed, woohoo!
