You have a background image for your conky, right? How do you do that..?
See, you're unpacking.

You can have a background image with conky using ${image /path/to/image}, for more see here or here. This is not what I did though, because you either can't use a transparent image or I don't know how to. I just opened the background in gimp and added a transparent layer and made the box with a gradient; all I needed it for was to offer a bit of contrast to make the text more readable.

Yeah I actually knew you could use images but transparency was my problem too (that's why your setup caught my attention)! So for now I guess the only way is to "hack" our backgrounds like you did... Thanks for your reply.
See, you're unpacking.

By the way, my hat is off to those of you using dwm. After spending *hours* last week fiddling with it, and have absolutely no success, I am thoroughly impressed by those of you who are.
Any clues on how to set quick launch icons as small as his?
I just played around with the panel's width until I got everything looking mostly the way I wanted it. Setting the panel much narrower gives me big quicklaunch icons.

It's the Xfce-Dusk theme, available in the gtk-xfce-engine package.

Hopefully doing this right, first time poster.
Recently moved from KDE to Openbox (though still use KJots and Digikam), so I've just started fiddling in the latter. I tend to go for sparse: for now it's just one desktop; pypanel with tasks, thunar and digikam launchers, tray with volumeicon and nm-applet; urxvt (autostart); and a conky I got from one of the threads in this forum and modified a bit for the colours. My own photo for wallpaper.

Still can't decide between Awesome …
… and Xfce (+ a script for manual tiling).
Both are charming in very different ways. Yes, I like the old-fashioned look. Well, still looking for a nice set of "retro" icons – instead of smooth SVG icons.
Gtk-Theme is Solaris-motif, Xfwm-Theme is Mofit (slightly modified – original theme included is in the package "xfce4-themes"), GUI font is CMU Bright and anything else is Terminus of course.
