[SOLVED] Problem running Comix

After some clean up of my system I am unable to run Comix, the gtk comics book viewer.
The error I get is the following

Gtk:ERROR:gtkrecentmanager.c:1942:get_icon_fallback: assertion failed: (retval != NULL)
Aborted

I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot this problem, I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling comix with all its dependencies with no success, ditto with deleting all comix config files.  Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I've got similar issue with gitg.
I fixed the problem by installing Tango icons.

yaourt -S tango-icon-theme tango-icon-theme-extras

I also force Tango to be used as icon.
lxappearence generate

~/.gtkrc-2.0

# DO NOT EDIT!  This file will be overwritten by LXAppearance.

gtk-theme-name="Equinox"
gtk-icon-theme-name="Tango"
gtk-font-name="Sans 10"

and I define fallback into
~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine

#gtk-icon-theme-name="Tango"
gtk-fallback-icon-theme="gnome-icon-theme"

Well I found the problem.  It seems that Comix was not happy running with oxygen-molecule theme.  Every other gtk theme I tried worked, i.e. Comix ran without a problem, and I am using qtcurve now.  Strange as this only affected comix, but not gimp or firefox?
