Using an MCE IR Receiver with a normal IR remote, with LIRC

Let me introduce my "problem":

I have recenlty assembled an HTPC to place under my HDTV in the living room, in order to avoid to connect\disconnect every time my laptop from the TV itself.

With my laptop, I configured the integrated IR receiver with LIRC, and I used the great SONY PS2 DVD remote that I had since many years: I feel very confortable with It, and I configured it perfectly to work with many apps included my main mediaplayer app, XBMC.

For this new HTPC, I bought an Ms Tech Mc-210 case (this one) that carries an IR receiver and a remote. While waiting for some pieces for the HTPC, I tried the remote included with the case with my laptop (and his internal IR receiver) and it works great, but it doesn't feel good as my PS2 remote. I would like so to continue using this last one as my remote for the htpc.

Sadly, I discovered that the IR receiver integrated in the case is not a normal one, but it is an MCE Receiver: basically, it is detected by the system as an HID input device, like a keyboard.

lsusb:

...
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 1130:6604 Tenx Technology, Inc.
..

With this receiver, the only remote that I managed to get working is the one included with the case itself, even if in a different way compared to my laptop (it detects it like a keyboard, many buttons when pressed are detected like 2 o 3 different keyboard pressed buttons at once) ;
my sony remote is not detected (all the configuration files are the same of my laptop).

My question is: is there a way to make this MCE receiver detect my Sony remote signals? I made some searching on Google, but I can only find some tutorials and howtos for make MCE receivers\remotes work with lirc and its devinput modules.

Sorry for my bad English, usually my english is quite understandable but this time I feel that I made some bad mistakes smile
