Problem setting audio up

I am using Gnome.
I have a motherboard with nvidia sound chipset
Plus a PCI-Express GT 240 Nvidia Card.

I plugged a TV to the HDMI output of the GT 240 Video card...but i cannot manage to get the sound output through it....

Can anyone help with this?

reinstall alsa and latest nvida drivers
then check on alsa mixer for muted channels

please list also output for aplay

I just formatted the whole system - so every driver is on its latest version.....
