Hi All,
I'd like to start learning a bit of programming. I have numerous hefty books, but as a starting point I'd like to see the base file for tint2 (not the config). Where are such files located?

Or go to the ABS. In every PKGBUILD you might find the source tarball. wget-it and bob's your uncle.

Thank you, all very helpful and currently very confusing.

Yeah, I'm not sure the source code for tint2 is a really good place to begin learning HOWTO program!

No, it doesn't look very simple. Initially it seems simple. Any suggestions?

I think you'll be beter off with a good introductory book. Real world software is often quite complex and not written with educational purposes in mind. Get to know the syntax of a language and write some basic algorithms first, then start looking at real software.

IMO, best beginner's programming book I've read. It really holds your hand.
Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.
