Text to Audio File

Before I go the DIY route and mush several applications together, does anyone know of an application that will narrate the text and convert it to an audio file? Maybe I'm not using the right search terms but I can't seem to find a linux app that does this.

Thanks

Re: Text to Audio File

Festival has IMHO the best quality, flite is worse but is much smaller and espeak is just horrible ;P

I think you need "voices" for your language: an English voice won't sound good reading a French text.
