Hi experts. My laptop is Lenovo G460. I have a question regarding the headphone jack in my laptop.
Currently I have problem that the sound is produced from both the internal laptop speaker and the headphone even tough I use the headphone.
I've googled for this, and found that I need to add this line to the /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=????
The problem is, I didn't found the model for codec Conexant 5069.
Anyone have the model for this or any other idea how to fix this? Thanks.

You might try just
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
It enables Message Signaled Interrupts. It is one of the things that are included in a lot of the model declarations. It is the only setting required by my HP Pavilion DV4. It seems that the chip set requires notification that the jack has been inserted so that it can perform it's magic. If no interrupt is generated, that doesn't happen. If the system is not configured to respond to MSI, and that is what your computer generate, that message will be missed.
This may,or may not help -- but it won't break anything.

Thank U, Skittles,
It works in my Lenovo G460
(I had to add #include <sys/stat.h> to avoid compilation error).

Funny, I had this behavior in Slackware 13. try unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in. Worked for me until i found;
options snd-hda-intel model=hippo

I was able to fix this (also on a lenovo G460) by adding the following line to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf :
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-vostro
The model might change, but I think it should be the same for the same laptop.
I found this in the main ALSA article in the Arch Wiki
Edit: I should have mentioned that I had no sound on my headphones with the default driver (blank modprobe.conf) before. I was able to get sound on the headphones with other configuration options, but this was the only one that gave me sound *only* on the headphones when they were plugged in.
