I installed linux after disconnecting my two other harddrives everything went fine, but as soon as i plug them back in i get an error message:
/dev/sda3:
the superblock could not be read....
file system check failure
I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the install since it works when the other drives are disconnected.
Is there anyway around this problem.
thx

I would check to see that the new drive you're plugging in is net being read first and being labled as sda. Maybe, try swapping the order of the drives. Or, try editing the grub listing (you can do this at the prompt) to boot from sdb.

Search for how to use uuids in /etc/fstab, am pretty sure that's your issue.

Thanks for the help and pointing me in the right direction.I was using /bin/ls -lf /dev/disk/by-uuid/ to find the uuids which wasen't very helpful,so.
I used blkid instead to find the uuids and this link to find out how and where to set them up
