[SOLVED] No /dev/archiso

I got the famous " Boot device didn't show up after 30 seconds..." error as in previous installs, but the common solution with symbolic linking doesn't apply in my case. I don't have the /dev/archiso node.

Both my HDD (Samsung HD502HJ) and DVD (Pioneer 216) drives are recognized, which I checked with cat /proc/scsi/scsi . Setup in BIOS for SATA controller is "IDE Mode", but the error is the same even with "AHCI" or "Linux AHCI" modes.

.iso image is the latest 2010.5 .

:edit:

Better go check the label on the burnt CD

ln -sf /dev/sr0 /dev/archiso goes OK, but ln -sf /dev/sr0 /dev/disk/by-label/ARCH_201005 gets me the "no such file or directory".

I apologize for opening the same topic.

:edit no. 2:

Label IS ARCH_201005. I'm kinda stuck here.

Re: [SOLVED] No /dev/archiso

At the ramfs$ prompt:
[ramfs /]# udevadm trigger
[ramfs /]# exit

Re: [SOLVED] No /dev/archiso

Thank you for your reply.

I used the image that I've burnt earlier, 2009.8, and all is well now, Openbox is up and running faster than ever.

Is there any difference between 2009.08 and the latest .iso? Am I missing something by using the older "release"?

Works for current .iso, solved my problem when I reinstalled Arch today.
