Can't connect to mirrorlist (repo) with windows(SOLVED)

i need i file to get online with linux but i cant connect to the repo with windows.
the file is wvstreams and every time i download it,it say im missing metadata.
any help with this would be appreciated.thx

What do you mean you can not connect to the repos? They are all http or ftp so you just need to open your browser of choice... If you are having issues with one mirror, try another.

ive tried atleast 15 mirrors and i keep getting HTTP 404 not found

Ummm... you are doing it wrong... have you replaced $repo with the name of the repo you want? Post a link that you are trying.

You might want to reread Allan's post. Particularly this bit:
