Slow kernel booting while "sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk"

Hello.

I up to date Archlinux with standard kernel(core/kernel26 2.6.35.7-1).
After kernel message:

sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk

hdd is working about 10 seconds and after that kernel continues booting.

What does 'sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk' mean?
What does it do?
