Okay, hypothetical situation...(cough cough)
1. Say you executed the following command by mistake:
sudo chown myusername /*
2. And then went "aaaaaaaargh!!!"
3. And then used the following command to try and avert disaster:
sudo chown root /*
4. And then also (for good measure)
sudo chown myusername ~/
5. And then rebooted and hoped for the best...
My question, in summary, is "is it gonna be alright?"

chown is not recursive by default, is it?
