Hey everybody. Just installed Arch yesterday, and I'm loving it. However, I just ran pacman -S miro, and when I try to run it, it just hangs.
Here's the gdb output:
Starting program: /usr/bin/python ./miro.real --sync --debug
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]

Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Ideas anyone?

I found that Miro is successfully making some directories in my Home folder, which is odd, because these are not the same directories that were created with the same version of Miro on my Ubuntu box. Additionally, when I run the program now, I get a tad bit more output:

Surely, I'm not the only person that can't run Miro on they're arch setup, right?

Solved!!! Had to install gstreamer0.10-base-plugins and gstreamer0.10-good-plugins.

Thanks, that helped me also.

That could be caused be the switch to python3. Are all packages up-to date on your system? What does the terminal output say when miro started from the terminal?

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
-Benjamin Franklin
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
