[Driver problem] Lexmark Interpret S450

Hi there!

I'm trying to install my network printer Lexmark Interpret S450 in Archlinux, but I have a lot of problems with it.

At first, I can't install the drivers (lexmark-inkjet-09) because Lexmark only does Ubuntu and Fedora versions, there isn't an .tar.gz source. So, I tried to unpack the files in the deb with deb2targz and copy them in their respective folders, but I have no results. Cups error_log:

D [24/Oct/2010:13:36:07 +0100] [Job 8] Lista para imprimir. (Trans: Ready to print)
D [24/Oct/2010:13:36:07 +0100] [Job 8] End of messages

E [24/Oct/2010:13:47:20 +0100] [Job 10] Job stopped due to filter errors; please consult the error_log file for details.
D [24/Oct/2010:13:47:20 +0100] [Job 10] The following messages were recorded from 13:47:20 to 13:47:20

Then, I modified the script included to do symlinks of the libraries, without results.

So I ask: can someone do a PKGBUILD to install those drivers, with its included config program? I give you the link of the Lexmark page with the linux drivers: http://support.lexmark.com/index?segmen … ownloads#2

Before somebody say it, there's NO PKGBUILD in AUR for those drivers, there's one for lexmark-inkjet-08z, but my printer is quite new and that drivers are not compatible.

Thanks a lot! Ask for more information if you need it.

Re: [Driver problem] Lexmark Interpret S450

Huh, that's kinda odd.  I've installed a Lexmark printer by way of an universal installer that is able to install on other systems beside Debian and Fedora based ones.  You might have to wait for the universal version to be released if you don't want to get in the muck with the Debian and Fedora versions.  As for the PKGBUILD you're probably gonna have to make your own.  Look at the wiki page I wrote for a prototype if you like that I built but isn't quite ready.  For my printer I tested the Debian version on Ubuntu and it behaved the same as the universal installer.  I'm thinking that inside the script there is a .deb instead of a .tar.gz that is used so that their package manager knows it exists.  Anyways, good luck smile.
