I've recentlty switched from KDEmod4 on Arch64 to stock KDE4 on Arch64. Usually my folders with video files in them have previews on them but stock KDE4 Arch they don't shoe up. Previews for pngs, jpegs etc. work fine and I've turned video thumbnails in settings of dolphin but still they won't show up on the folders. Anybody else got that issue?
EDIT: Fresh install fixed the video files preview issue.

Go to Dolphin preview properties and check Video Files.

Did that already and it still doesn't work. Folder with jpegs in them ashow very nicely previews on the folder themselves but not when video files are in the folder.

Here is an example of what I mean

I'm quite sure that that feature doesn't exsist in kfffmpegthumbnailer at all so no, I don't have it either. You could try mplayer thumbnailer, it used to be default before KDE SC 4.5.

Weird it worked so nicely in KDEmod. I've tried mplayerthumbnailer, kffmpegthumbnailer and ffmpegthumbailer and none them can make folder previews video files. I don't understand why it worked in KDEmod then?

It is probably a feature that KDEmod developers inserted in their KDE 4.

Hmm.. Gotta them ask them what they did then.

According to the Arch devs this feature should work on KDE 4.5 on Arch. But I still can't get it to work .

This is now completely broken in KDE4.6. Nothing shows up on the folders with images og videos in them.

Works for me in 4.6.
Try to run mplayerthumbsconfig and choose MPlayer as backend.

This works fine for me using the kdemultimedia-ffmpegthumbs package.

I've still this problem but I isolated the issue somewhat. It seems like that I can get previews on folders if the folder contains files with png, tif and gif extensions. But files with jpg and jpeg do not generate folder previews. For video files I get none at all no matter what extension avi, mkv, mpeg, mpg, wmv etc. So this seems to be some kind of extension bug/problem.
