unable to find /usr/bin/sendmail

Hi Archers,

Do you know which package I need to install to have /use/bin/sendmail ?  I do not want to install postfix or other big program just to have sendmail command.

Thanks

Re: unable to find /usr/bin/sendmail

It's less than 9MB. I wouldn't really call it big.
There is a sendmail in AUR though if you want to try that.

Re: unable to find /usr/bin/sendmail

What do you need it for? I need it for mailx-heirloom and it's enough to create a symlink or better yet, add

set sendmail="/usr/bin/mailx"

to /etc/nail.rc.

Edit: I think you meant /usr/bin/sendmail, not /use/bin/sendmail ;P

  • /usr/bin/sendmail is in extra/courier-mta 0.62.1-6

  • /usr/sbin/sendmail is in
    extra/courier-mta 0.62.1-6
    extra/postfix 2.7.0-3
    extra/ssmtp 2.64-2
    community/esmtp 1.2-1
    community/exim 4.71-5

Re: unable to find /usr/bin/sendmail

uff, please don't use exim4....it is just too large in order to use it at home. setting up a server it might help a lot, but for a home desktop it's simply to much blown up.
msmtp/nbsmtp they are rather easy to deal with.
