Hi,
I had Arch Linux 64 installed previously with KDEMod.
I decided to do a reinstall, and so backed up all my data to a 32Gb SD Card - I have a Lenovo X200 with an in-built SD card reader.
The SD Card is formated with Fat32.
Anyhow, the files seemed to copy ok - some files were copied verbatim, others were tar.bz2-ed onto the SD card.
I also backed up my files from my Windows 7 install onto there as well.
I remember when I opened it up under Windows 7 install it did ask me to do a disk check, I just clicked ok to do the check, since I hadn't heard any issues with Linux and Fat32.
Anyhow, I've now reinstalled Arch, and lo-and-behold, the files copied under Windows seem to be on the disk and readable, however the files copied under Linux appear to be corrupted:
Even the tar.bz2 files don't appear to open - and the files without mangled filenames appear to be garbage as well.
I suppose it's a bit of a long-shot, but firstly, does anybody know what happened here? I was under the impression the FAT32 driver on Linux was fairly...well, stable?
And secondly - any chance of recovery?
Cheers,
Victor

Did you remember to sync the disk before removing it?

heya,
From memory, I'm fairly certain that in KDE, I went to the device notifier, and clicked eject...
