GNOME systray with hiding icons option (like Windows)

Is there a tray with that funcionality? like the one on Windows, or Xfce4. A tray that i can select which icons to show and which ones to hide (either permanently or hidden in an arrow).

Or the other way around. Is there a way to make apps believe they're docked but make them not show their systray icon? (This is useful for example, for Skype with the Pidgin plugin: Once Pidgin connects with the Skype API, you need the Skype GUI for absolutely nothing).

Preferably, a tray that can be incrustated in the GNOME panel, without the "swallow" plugin.
