Hi, I'm a fresh xfce user, and I recently installed (as a dependency) Gnome Settings Daemon. I have noticed that it overrides the global synaptics settings (namely swaps 2- and 3-finger tap for a reason only Gnome team understands).
Is there any way to override gsd's multitouch-tap settings? Synclient works only for a single session.

if you have gconf-editor installed you can go to /apps/gnome-settings-daemon/plugins/mouse/ and uncheck the active key.
Then add your settings to the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf

Thanks.
I though of gconf-editor, but I was looking in the wrong place (under Desktop>Gnome>Peripherals).
