Hi all ![]()
Whenever I've installed Amarok 1.4 in Ubuntu-based distributions, it has always worked flawlessly. In Arch, however, using the amarok1 PKGBUILD in the AUR, Amarok does everything perfectly except moving songs into playlists on the iPod. I'm using the iPod Classic (80 GB) on a 64-bit Arch install (I've tested this on three different Arch installs, all 64-bit, on two different pieces of hardware.) I am able to drag songs/albums/artists into the playlist using the mouse in conjunction with the search filter, but I have no luck right-clicking a song/album/artist, choosing "Add to Playlist" and then selecting the desired playlist. I just get the "Flushing iPod transfer cache" message and nothing else happens.
Overall, it's not enough to make me quit using this beautiful piece of software, but it's frustrating knowing that the function just isn't working. Has anyone else had this issue? Perhaps with a different iPod, a non-iPod, in 32-bit Arch, etc.? Note: I am talking about adding songs to a playlist both already on the iPod.
Thanks for your input! ![]()

Hello,
There is a clementine player which is a fork of amarok 1.4 to qt4. Check this link: http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/ In version 0.5 change log says there is ipod support. It's quite nice player (using it right now).
It's in AUR ![]()

haha Thanks for the suggestion. Clementine is great, but I need iPod support for now.
There is no better iPod support than Amarok 1.4's.
