awesome: kile and okular don't care about layouts

Hi,

I can't get kile or okular work together with awesome. No matter what layout a tag has they always stay in the same size. The awesome FAQ says one should try to un/maximize them with Mod+m. The strange thing is that I can use this command and it works but when unmaximized and in floating mode I can't even change their height but only the width. I also tried dolphin but it behaves normally.

Any suggestions (despite form ditching these apps ;b )?

okular & acroreader

he recommends this

and it works for me and fixed the problem.

I'll definitely try this but I wonder what causes this problem. On my notebook these programs behave like expected without this entry in the rc.lua.
