[SOLVED] deleted /var/lib/pacman/local - disaster?

Yesterday I've done my most stupid mistake ever. I tried to Install slackware, because I didn't want to spend so much time at the computer anymore,  (slackware has stable releases). I made a backup with rsync, in case I don't like slackware or it doesn't work. And this was the case. So I tried to recover my good old archsystem.... And then I recognized that I forgot to backup my "var" partition :-( ---

I tried to find a solution for this problem and remembered an old system backup from August, from wich I recovered the var partition. Now everything works fine, except of pacman, who has the old local database from August.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to generate the localdatebase? Would be so great!!

If you think there is no way out, let me also know.

There are a couple of threads here with scripts to help you...  do a forum search.   But essentially you have issues tongue

Re: [SOLVED] deleted /var/lib/pacman/local - disaster?

After searching the forums, trying the scripts (which worked, but it was still to much work...), I recovered the system with my old clonezilla-backup from August, did a big update and start from this point with installing all the packages I had on my system two days ago.

From now I'll always doublecheck things, when there seems to be something critical. Also changed my rsync-backup-script to what ist is supposed to be.
