[SOLVED] Customizing Emacs

Hi,

As I don't want to bump old topics too much, I'll ask my question here. When browsing through the screenshots of last month I came across this post showing Emacs among others:

tNWZ5cwp

This left me wondering: how did he customize Emacs that way? I already found out that I can simply open a PDF file in Emacs and it's automatically converted to a picture and shown, which is great, but how did he make the interface look like this?

Edit: To make things more clear: I'm asking about the appearance of Emacs itself, not about the use of a tiling WM. At the moment, my Emacs looks like:

emacsdefault.th.png

Notice the rather plain looking menu bar, toolbar and scrollbar. In the former screenshot, you can see a menu bar more or less 'integrated' in the window's title bar, shiny toolbar icons and lovely rounded scrollbars.

I think the latter are produced by a custom GTK-theme, but which one? And what about the other customized user interface widgets of Emacs?

Thanks in advance.
/Marcel

Um, I think you are looking at the virtues of a tiling window manager

Ah, no, that's not what I meant. Initial question updated.

GTK + OB: Wow
Icons: Awoken

Btw the wm is openbox, which by itself doesn't have tiling feature. It is pytyle which is tiling the windows.

Hehe, and I did send him an email, but wanted to open a topic so other members can use his settings as well. wink
