It is odd, I haven't done any firewall configurations, after pacman stopped upgrade/update. I had new machines older installations all fail to " pacman -Syy " or other commands which needs mirrors. I have checked all mirrors, pacman.conf file only option lays after my firewall. I tried with different walls nothing stays even in logs while trying pacman update system. I can reach internet from browsers or other tools, only thing which I haven't tried yet, which I try next is update through TOR...(in paranoia that my ISP.s ip.s are banned somehow)

Can you ping the mirror?

hmm I didn't try that, but it started to work through TOR...odd
[edit] Yes I can ping from my normal ip to some servers in my mirrorslist, but not to use pacman against them

does anyone know how to get pacman work again, without using TOR onion routing?
[EDIT] I believe I found the reason - at least one of those machines started to upgrade- I went to mirrorlist and noticed that the addresses missed architecture 'i686' or 'x86_64'. I had installed those two latest systems from dual architecture core CD, which had made mirrorlist not supported by mirrors. Another earlier installation just had some servers in pacman mirrorlist which didn't respond from some other reason
