Hey guys/gals....I didnt see any posts about this here and I know these forums move like pondwater so I thought I would share. They had a lot of good things to say about Arch.

After 3 minutes of watching those two blithering idiots try to be stupid and not funny at the same time I gave up and left their site. Why do they have to act and sound like teenage imbeciles on some third rate, small town radio station?
Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

or you can just fast forward to the minute 27

What they say about arch is actually correct, as far as I can tell. I find It refreshing to hear someone giving arch a look over this way.
Maybe they act a little "special" in the beginning, but I can live with that

That's what I did. I scrolled down and simply listened to the ogg audio recording so as not to be..distracted.
It was actually really cool from that point until they changed the subject again.

I can't fast forward, so I'm not going to watch it.

I thought it was a pretty ok review. For people who are only what I would call "light" Linux users and who judge some distros on the design of the wallpaper I think it is a pretty fair review.
I haven't lost my mind; I have a tape back-up somewhere.

It was kind of nice being reminded how people who don't use Arch thing about Arch, and why I started using Arch to begin with.
Also, I think it's really strange when people who do Linux reviews mispronounce GNOME.

I didn't catch that. I seem to recall them pronouncing it 'NOME', like a small creature of fairy tale ilk.
You don't call it GUH-NOME, do you?

Of course I pronounce it GUH-NOME, similarly to how I pronounce GUH-NU.
Hmm... I wonder if this thread is going to take a turn for the worse...

Not sure if it was me.... but that site is slow to a point it's unbearable. Yes, they are just slight annoying enough to tinker my nerves.

I enjoyed that.

thought it was a good review. Their style grates on many but the actual content of the review was better than most. They made an effort to review arch for what it is and did so well imo. I think folk that are unfamiliar with arch would have got a fair picture of the distro from their review and it might even encourage some to give it a try.
the only minor complaint I'd have was their treatment of pacman, where they seemed to confuse a few slightly different issues - namely packaging in general versus the actual package manager itself.

"Arch is more than a piece of software, Arch is a document"--> my comment-and a quite advanced one at that, one that transcend the meaning of document itself. ;-)
Love their positive info though, well balanced pro-Arch review!

Those guys may be wacky, and grating to some, but as a long-time Ubuntu user who was actively looking for a new distro, the linux action show led me to the Arch promised land!
So let's give the lads some credit.

Very good review, but they normally do well.
I will admit about two years ago I tuned into that show and gave it the two minutes like many here did, thinking they are freaking idiots. I gave it another go recently and now have watched many shows. They actually do quite a good job imo.
Edit: Might try watching it on youtube. Easier to fast forward....LINK
