Hi,
hope someone can help me, if i try downloading somethink from the irc with Xchat i allways just get a message that i have a transfer pending, but there is nowhere a message that i receive something, same with irssi. Can someone tell me how to configure Xchat, so i cn accept DCC transfers.

it sounds like a router issue.... make sure to redirect port 6667 (is that right?)

Actually, I believe that the DCC transfers take a different por for each transfer. Maybe you're under a firewall? If you are, try setting the DCC ports in the XChat configs to a range that is allowed.

trapdoor, what sort of firewall / router or what have you got setup ?
altho some IPtables have "associated" in there, they dont see Xchat dcc as associated, as its a Direct Connection. IP address to IP address.
try allocating a port for DCC in xchat and then letting the firewall / router know that its ok to use.
sometimes it seems like Witchcraft, and in Fedora ive used
service iptables stop
just to check things. usually then DCC works.
dont forget to restart the F/w tho

Hey,
i set up my router to forward ports 6667 and 6668 and configured xchat like that, but it still doesn't work, i get exactly this error message
** You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (150 seconds remaining until timeout)
Maybe you could explain to me how this iptables stuff works, because i knever handled it.

Lets drop back a step, and work out the client.
Set your client to receive the transfer.
You need to be able to view the DCC window to accept it or set Auto accept in the Setup menus.
Do you get a window popup and theres a button to accept or abort.? if not go to the top menu and select [Window] - [File Recieve] then you should get a dialogue box. If you click Accept , and it still wont go, lets look at your ports control.
Let us know how it goes.

Xchat settings...
*Go to settings -> preferences
*Set your downloaded files path and click ok
*Go to IRC menu and select the Auto open dialog windows and Auto accept files

Well, i set all this auto stuff but it still doesn't work, ther even isn't a window that opens to show me that i could accept something

Try loading the ip_nat_irc module, it worked for me...

or
Also, [IRC] - [Auto Open Dialog Boxes]
EDIT:
maybe also [window] - [Rawlog] and check what system is saying about the DCC transfer.
Edit 2: dammit, i cant receive either now, will check all this later .... Grrrr!

I tried that, but actually, there is no window that opens, and there is no transfer shown if i try to open the window manually.
The rawlog only shows, what i've known before, that the transfer is pending
So, are there any other suggestions?

How about pacman -Rcns xchat then pacman -Sy xchat. If it still not work then reinstall arch (I'm running out of idea )

Ok, i solved the problem now, it was just the bot that was screwed up so the whole discussion was worth nothing
