[Solved] Help with gnome/compiz, screen stopped refreshing

Aftre upgrading my system the screen looks pretty weird as you can see in the screencapture below

Obviously  the screen-refresh has stopped working somehow

My card is a nvidia Geforce 7600 GT

PS: I downgraded the nvidia drivers with no avail. Everything else incl. compiz and gnome is  up-to-date.

My guess is that you need to install the xorg-server-compositing-fix package from AUR.  See this thread for discussion.
