Hi,
Today I started up Eclipse, closed a couple of source files and then Eclipse just stopped. I tried to restart it, but did not get more than a (brief) glimpse of the splash.
What happened? And more importantly: how do I fix this?
I did not get to any logs as I cant find them in /var/log - possibly they're hidden elsewhere.
Please help.
Tnx
Thor

If you start eclipse from the command line, what messages do you get before it crashes?

Hi, tnx for the reply wtchappel,
this is the dump:

(eclipse:2489): atk-bridge-WARNING **: IOR not set.
(eclipse:2489): atk-bridge-WARNING **: Could not locate registry

Just before I have to get to work...what a way to start the day...
That is all I get....

Is that all you get? Surely there is more than that...

I was about to ask the same thing, there's no java exception mumbo jumbo attached to that?

Hi,
Ok, just back from work...and I fired up the "Lady" (my PC) and started eclipse...and everything works. I did have quite a few (19) documents open...
What I was thinking of was rebuilding the workspace by removing the .metadata in the /home/user/eclipse folder and forcing a rebuild of the project.
I started it from the console, just as suggested, so I could peek "behind the scenes":
(eclipse:1693): atk-bridge-WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup.
(eclipse:1693): atk-bridge-WARNING **: IOR not set.
(eclipse:1693): atk-bridge-WARNING **: Could not locate registry
Possibly something I "forgot" to install?
Well, anyway...the plaything works again. Without any intervention...is Linux cool or what?
I'll tag it "SOLVED" within a few days...just to allow further meditation - if need be
Wellness to all
