Modifying the iwlwifi driver - how to compile it?

Hi

So, I'm pretty bored and would like to hack around in the iwl3945/iwlwifi driver to see if I can turn off the leds somehow.. I build a custom kernel using the ABS kernel26 PKGBUILD.

/home/michael/abs/kernel26/src/linux-2.6.35/drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi

Now, after modifying for example iwl-led.c, how do I go about compiling this driver, without compiling the entire core again? Can I simply do: make modules

Also, does this module/driver get installed for all kernels, or separate for the current kernel?
Thanks
