Re: November 2010 Screenshots

No real change from last month.  I'm one of these people who prefer to do actual work rather than dick about with the latest eye-candy.  Or maybe that's just boring, but I find I get things done.  :).   So see:

You can see:

* FVWM (http://www.fvwm.org)
* Tmux (http://tmux.sf.net)
* XTerm (http://invisible-island.net/xterm/)
* Stalonetray (http://stalonetray.sf.net)
* Vimprobable (http://www.vimprobable.org)
* IRSSI (www.irssi.org)

And of course, some teddy bears.  :)

Nothing special. Nice and easy interface to work with. Using LXDE for my DE.

Just trying out compiz++ checked out from git. Suprisingly, it's pretty stable until you enable the regex plugin. Dunno if that's fixed in the upcoming 0.9.2.1 release, but I sure hope it is.

Re: November 2010 Screenshots

Mine for November. Nothing fancy, only a color change.

th_Arch-GreenWall-Clean.jpg
th_Arch-GreenWall-Dirty.png

The GTK, OBtheme and BMpanel2 are from the Litestyle-Wise theme. The wallpaper can be found here.

I'm searching for a minimal conky config suitable for this. Something with clock and HDD status but not too big. Any recommendations?

Still practicing my english. Sorry for any mistakes.

Thanks, It's a bit mess but here :
http://pastebin.com/b5S8gyDh
(Google aller fonts, if you want them.)

You probably need to tweak some things to suit your computer, like CPU / GPU temps, and Filesystems.
For CPU temps you also need sensors set up correctly.

To get the updates actually update, put something like this in your /etc/cron.hourly/

#!/bin/bash
pacman -Sy
return 0;

Re: November 2010 Screenshots

@Cloudef /srv/http/Armpit/...    Classy, haha. Reminds me of a friend in school who used to program using turtle and platypus for variable names. I think he still does.

Things haven't changed much since I installed Arch and initially configured it. Openbox and tint2, with the Inspiration GTK theme. Recently installed the Ubuntu font. Simple and easy. Unfortunately, Photobucket mangles images pretty badly, so you can't get a great idea of how things look.

You don't want that return (unless I'm missing something about cron...)

Why not

#!/bin/bash
exec pacman -Sy

or

#!/bin/bash
pacman -Sy
exit

You can't use return outside of a function

This is actually my second arch install, but the first one as the OS for my primary machine smile. It's still relatively new, and I moved from Ubuntu so I'm staying with a Gnome setup for now. I might go back to dwm after exams.

Re: November 2010 Screenshots

It doesn't get much cleaner than this in my system.. not gonna post layouts etc. again, they're on the first page of this forum anyway. I kinda like this new look, blue'ish.

vNjMyag

I rewrote the dzen scripts real quick, so others can use them (too much hardcoded before), and added some new icons - aswell as a new wall, and tab colors. I promise to get the configs up soon, I just have to write up a little guide on the xmonad stuff. Requires dzen xft, xmonad-darcs/contrib-darcs, haskell-xft, sm4tik icons etc. etc.

Thanks for hooolding, those I promised :-)

Re: November 2010 Screenshots

Decided to tamper with my old XMonad configs. Maybe I'll actually update them. (Just not a fan of dynamic window handling... wish there was manual in XMonad).

Not exactly. You can use return in the main body of a sourced file
