Hi, I'm new to archlinux and i installed the base system. After I install the nvidia drivers and start X i get a black screen and nothing works out well..
My graphics card i nvidia Geforce 330m on a Sony vaio F1 series laptop.
I even tried backlisting nouveau which is by default in the kernel and then when i start the gdm i get
gdm-binary: display lasted for XXX seconds.

How do i go about from here ? did any one here face the same issue ?

1) after installing nvidia you need to reboot. we are smart enough to blacklist automatically nouveau.
2) is that an optimus system?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
