Black screen after first boot

Hi,

I just finished installing Arch Linux through the net. After selecting "Arch Linux" from the GRUB interface I get a black screen after the last process that says "Waiting for UDEV something something". I know people have had this problem before and I have googled + searched this forum for a solution but they are not working for me. How do I fix this issue?

Information:
OS: Win7 partition 1
AL partition 2
RAM: 4G
HDD: 250G
GPU: Intel 965
CPU: Intel C2D 1.8ghz

Windows 7 is installed first, I plan on installing Arch on my second partition.

Re: Black screen after first boot

I added lines to the GRUB console to kill the kernel and "start" video driver

I have undone all of that and have found the solution, Apparently I was suppose to wait for the 4 second wait time to deplete before I could boot up. What I did was hit "ENTER" while Arch Linux was selected.

I am currently configuring X and KDE, should I mark this thread as "Solved"?

Thanks

Re: Black screen after first boot

I had the same issue with my intel 965GM in my notebook, but apparently because of other problems.

After installed Arch in my notebook, my screen died in boot, but if I plugged a external monitor in the VGA port, both screens start working again. The issue seems to be related with the various outputs and how the driver/module in KMS mode handle they. If I poked other ports, my LVDS should start working again.

Added in the kernel lines "video=SVIDEO-1:d" and my LVDS worked without the vga-hack-thing.

Please, make this thread as "Solved".
