Uhh... Totem is just a Xine frontend...

(Unless you're talking about the interface. In which case, yes, MPlayer's interface does indeed suck.)

Re: Recommended Light but feature rich music player

Imho wxMusik is pretty good. A bit buggy, but feature rich. (Including streams, album pics, dynamic playlists, flac/aac, etc.)

I've only recently switched to Arch Linux, but if anyone's interrested I'll make a PKGBUILD for it.

[edit: now I come to think of it, wxMusik is not really lightweight.]
[2nd edit: what you need is quod libet! It's a great player written in python and pygtk. I've made a PKGBUILD for it in AUR.]

Re: Recommended Light but feature rich music player

Oh, sorry, I ran into quod libet before making a PKGBUILD for wxMusik, and figured it's much beter. It's got the same features, but not the instability that wxMusik has.

Hope I don't disappoint you...

Re: Recommended Light but feature rich music player

Any other than rhythmbox that support Internet radio like the stations on Shoutcast?  I like some of that stuff and with the recent debacle I'm having with gst-plugins I need a working alternative.

Just because it's slow, doesnt mean it's bloated miqorz. Otherwise, it's an awesome media framework.

Streamtuner is a good frontend for Shoutcast and Live365 internet radio stations.  It allows you to select an external player (xmms, xine, zinf, etc).

It all depends on how integrated you want it.
