totem plugin? [SOLVED]

Hi all,

At the project page for totem it seems like the plugin for Firefox works now (it was a project only before). I can't seem to get it to work though! I don't know how and from the page it seems like it should "just work".

At the moment I'm using my old trusty friend VLC so I'm in no hurry, just wondering: is there a plugin and what version of totem is supposed to have it?

Thanks

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

It's not compiled by default... You have to add --enable-mozilla to the ./configure line in the PKGBUILD.

(I think I'll test it out to see if it should be enabled by default...)

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

Hmm... Added the option, and removed the line that gets rid of the code for the Mozilla plugin... The plugins still doesn't seem to exist though. Perhaps Makefile needs some changes. (Makefile is freaking huge though...)

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

interesting... any specific reason why it's not a default?

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

Probably because, up until recently, it sucked.

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

Ah... nice reason!  big_smile  But I thought that that was before it was fixed. Should I make a bug report and let the devs know? Maybe they don't realise it's fixed

Re: totem plugin? [SOLVED]

only see it working with the help of mozplugger.  I think the pluggin by itself is not visible by the browser.  There is a mozplugerrc in ubuntu forums that allows you to use totem plugin if it was compiled.

But the plugin still has issues, haven't found where to tell him how much of the movie will it buffer at the begining, and unless you have a very fast broadband connection, the playback will not be fluid.
