[ SOLVED ] Problem With Cups Admin

I have cups installed etc, and when i sent a request to print a test page on the networked printer, everything was fine.  Now a few days later when i try to access the admin page of cups, when i do localhost:631 i get the front page, but when i go to click on Jobs or Administration etc i get a blank webpage with the message 'Oops! This link appears to be broken.'

Any suggestions please ?

Many Thanks

May it be that your browser uses a cached version of the front page? Try reloading it, and if it doesn't appear – check whether CUPS is really running.

Unrelated: Over here I find that the CUPS web interface is really slow when accessed from an external computer.

Re: [ SOLVED ] Problem With Cups Admin

i've had a similar problem - check if your /etc/hosts file is configured according to the installation guide.

my cups server runs fine since i repaired that file. now it looks like this:

#<ip-address>   <hostname.domain.org>   <hostname>
127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain localhost robot

note that 'robot' is the name of my machine. should you put there your hostname

Re: [ SOLVED ] Problem With Cups Admin

@Nichollan
The web interface is on my local pc, the printer is on a network pc.  Tried reloading and still no joy

@robug
Yes my /etc/hosts is set up correctly

In the end, i removed Cups and reinstalled and its back working now.  So very odd, but all good at least
