on a freshly installed x86_64 system, I've installed the v86d package, ran my
code:
---------------
# mkinitcpio -p kernel26
---------------
but no framebuffer is enabled on my ttys
after searching a while, i've found there is nothing in :
/sys/bus/platform/drivers/
related to uvesafb
tried to sync my packages, remove v86d, clear pacman's cache and reinstall it, there are still no files in that directory
so, uvesafb cannot work ( it would be difficult without the drivers, i suppose )

Did you add v86d hook to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf before you generated the image?
