A problem with my right click menu

I'm using GNOME with Compiz (it also doesn't matter if I switch to Metacity) and in some applications when I right click it automatically selects the first option in the menu (Chrome, Qt Creator) but not in Firefox or on the desktop. To get the menu to appear and stay, without selecting the first option, I need to click and drag the cursor away and then it acts like usual (or keep right click pressed while browsing the menu). Any ideas as to why this happens? It's getting pretty annoying

Re: A problem with my right click menu

So, I kinda figured out what it is but don't know how to fix it. Every time I release the Right mouse button, it acts like another click. So I press it, the menu shows up, and when I release it it's like clicking it again really fast. Is there any way at least to disable the selecting of menu items with right clicks? So even if it acts like that, the menu items would be clickable only with a left click? (the mouse is an Ideazon Reaper Edge)

Re: A problem with my right click menu

Bump.

I'm having the exact same problem... not in all applications... for now it's been annoying in Thunar and Deluge. Chrome/OpenOffice don't have this problem for me.
Can anyone help?

I had a look but unfortunately I found nothing relevant there.

Re: A problem with my right click menu

I have it too. I'm running a composite manager (cairo-compmgr w/ Openbox) on an ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5470

Re: A problem with my right click menu

I'm running cairo-compmgr too.
And.. when I disabled it, the problem instantly disappeared!

With xcompmgr everything's fine.

Re: A problem with my right click menu

I have the same problem with compiz+gnome, when I right click on a window titlebar, the window is minimized instantly, taking the first option of the context menu. When I hold down the mouse button, sometimes i am able to navigate through this menu, it doesn't disappear.
If I replace compiz window manager with metacity, everyting works, so it must be a compiz issue. Is there any solution? Downgrading is a viable solution?

Re: A problem with my right click menu

With XFCE running it's own compositor I do not have this, so it's not necessarily related to using [a] composite manager.
