TinyWM/WM Programming.

I'm not sure if this goes here or in the Desktop Environments forum, sorry.

I'm trying to compile TinyWM (both through simple gcc and through AUR) and a bit of my own code which is very similar, they both compile fine, but when I try to run them, X doesn't seem to start them (when I exit X, it tells me it couldn't open the display), I just get a blank screen, I'm just wondering if it's something to do with the code or maybe its a system thing since tinywm seems to work for others?

Re: TinyWM/WM Programming.

How exactly are you trying to run them?

Edit:
A black screen might not mean that it is not working.

Re: TinyWM/WM Programming.

I put the executable into /usr/bin, put exec /usr/bin/tinywm in .xinitrc and startx.

A black screen doesn't but XOpenDisplay returning NULL is. smile
