Re: Can't get part of Firefox font to look right

Thanks, I used that fonts.conf and even rebooted just now as had some other updates needing it anyhow, and somethings are looking better for sure, and a couple fudgings: http://imgur.com/dveXH.png  That's gmail, dunno what's up with the Archive font there lol big_smile

Here is one of the sites now: http://imgur.com/wC4jE.png And if I change Firefox font prefs minimum font size to 11 (won't change if set to 9 or 10): http://imgur.com/1UPtq.png  Seems much better, still fairly bolded but more readable.

Here's how reddit looks at a glance: http://imgur.com/VDdgI.png  And if I change Firefox font prefs to Minimum Font Size 11: http://imgur.com/NpKcu.png  A bit more comfy on the eyes, so looks solid. So I think I have to keep Firefox font prefs with minimum font size @ 11?

cnn.com: http://i.imgur.com/v7SXP.png  for comparison

Also system font (mine is HandelGotD) is really crisp in GTK apps, massive improvement I can see. (And Terminus in urxvt reverted to like my post way above so I made the change again to .fonts.conf as you recommended back there as well.)

Re: Can't get part of Firefox font to look right

Instead of using minimum font size, you could just zoom in on that page with ctrl + and firefox should remember the zoom setting for the page (min font size will screw up lots of sites).

Gmail recently changed the interface and I think Archive is supposed to look like that now tongue.
