Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

If this is your first time with the Gnome keyring, then maybe it just wants you to provide a new password that you set yourself?

Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

Does it ask for a password to be added to the keyring, or for a password to unlock the keyring? Those are two different things...

Have you had gnome-keyring pop up before when using epiphany? I assume not?

It ask for a password to unlock the keyring. I don't remember for gnome-keyring pop up,I'm not using epiphany since long time ago,I think not.

Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

Well I guess epiphany does password management now, otherwise I don't see why it would be built with keyring support. If you never used it, try putting in whatever you want, maybe it does want you to set a default one without saying so.

No, whatever I put, it won't accept. Again and again showing pop up dialog. Can I just uninstall gnome-keyring somehow?

Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

You need to recompile epiphany without it.

Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

I suspect this could be solved by removing the keyring and then specifying a blank password.

Something resembling:

rm ~/.gnome2/keyrings/default.keyring

And the next prompt should be to set a password for the newly-created keyring (leave this blank).

Of course, I do not use GNOME so there's a good chance I'm mistaken.

Re: How to reset default gnome-keyring password

I don't have default.keyring in /.gnome2/keyrings,just login.keyring.
