Hi!
I have a Asus UL30a laptop, which I try to use as a source for my hdtv and surround-sound system.
The picture is very good, but when using sound through hdmi also, the sound is choppy and makes weird noises every 1-5sek, like a skipping sound.
The sounds doens't appear when using my bluray-player on the TV.
This happens both in Ubuntu and Arch (just booted up via Ubuntu livecd just to test, but I dont think it happens in WIndows 7).
I recently did a clean install of Arch, but still same problem.
Im using alsa and x86_64.
Anyone also have this problem ?

Solved, dno how I got to solve it but after I compiled a custom kernel the problem went away.

Nevermind, the problem seems to persist if I play mp3's, regardless of what player Im using.
But dvd movies work fine with mplayer.

Seems like the problem disappears if I play a mp3 file with the "-r 48000" option with mpg123 for example, or movies with mplayer which automatically will resample the rate to 48khz.
Any suggestions on how to make alsa do this automatically for every source?
