Change BIOS settings (Chargeable USB) from LINUX

Samsung N210 has an option of Chargable USB which allows us to charge iPod through USB even when the netbook is switched off.

One way to change the option of enabling and disabling it going to the BIOS by pressing F2 on startup.
Netbook came preinstalled with windows 7 & it had an application to enable and disable that feature from the OS itself so I am sure there is a way to do that in linux too..

Please guide me on how can I do so even if it will cost me making an app from scratch.

Re: Change BIOS settings (Chargeable USB) from LINUX

I don't think that any linux app for it exists. Though, just out of curiosity, why do you need to toggle it at frequent intervals? Just keep it enabled, through the bios. Or if the frequency of toggling is low, then accessing it through the bios shouldn't be too bothersome.

Though, does the usb charging thing work with linux normally (when enabled)?

Also, See if any of these links give additional information.

Re: Change BIOS settings (Chargeable USB) from LINUX

I know that I don't want it that frequently.
I just came across http://code.google.com/p/easy-slow-down-manager/ which I use to HARD BLOCK my Wifi. On googling, someone said that it blocks Wifi from the BIOS.

So, I just felt like learning on how do I do the same for Chargable USB.
